Job Description
Cheddar’s Casual Cafe is adding a new, exciting position of Business/Brand Analyst to our team! The Business Analyst will be responsible for conducting complex financial analysis across broad functions of our business. These analyses will go beyond typical number crunching and will include identifying trends, unearthing opportunities and anomalies, providing senior management with information and insights to optimize strategic decision making. Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data with the ability to distill down to actionable information. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way to all levels in the organization
- Will be responsible for conducting complex operational, brand and financial analysis, synthesizing detailed information and preparing executive level presentations
- Ability to form data for optimal statistical models for evaluating relationships and hypothesis testing
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements
- Must have a high level of intellectual curiosity, with the ability to follow the analysis, from hypotheses through testing, analysis to senior management presentation with insights and recommendations
- Ability to research and synthesize results; clearly communicating forecast risks and opportunities
- Follow business performance trends and probability; make recommendations for cost optimization and solutions when business and budget variances arise
- Providing cross functional analyses and guidance to businesses and individuals in making business, strategic and investment return decisions
- Ability to complete complex analysis of product and business performance, identifying trend opportunities and potential ‘what-if’ scenarios
- Develop new, and improve on existing, analytic tools to evaluate the company’s results
- Support regular and ad hoc revenue, margin and cost analysis for senior leadership
- Create and assist in regular and ad-hoc executive presentations –selecting best methods to summarize findings and recommendations in concise and creative ways
- Collaborate with the finance and support teams to develop new and improved tools for reporting, planning and analysis
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and MBA
- Experience with a multi-unit restaurant or retail company a plus
- Superior analytic and modeling skills
- Comfortable working with large amounts of data with the ability to distill down to actionable information
- Ability to interpret financial statements, analyze results and identify key issues
- Ability to work independently and solve problems individually
- Must meet deadlines and handle multiple objectives and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Persistent attention to detail and financial accuracy a must
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way to all levels in the organization
